We just returned from a week at FS Kantenah and what an amazing time we had! Myself, husband and 13 yr old twins. We flew from Toronto to Cancun.

We used Canada transfers to get us to the hotel , we were met at the hotel and immediately taken to the private check-in area for FS. I was very impressed with this as we were all hungry after the flight and the couch, video games, fridge, coffee machine, snacks etc. exclusively in that area for FS people was a great touch.

We were upgraded from the junior garden suite to the ambassador suite without asking – apparently because we had booked with Expedia. After check-in, we collected our bags and with a bellboy were escorted to our rooms all in a timely manner.

The room was great. We had two double beds in one room and a separate area with a pullout couch. This ended up working well for us – I do wish that there were rooms where you could book a king size bed with two single beds or a large pullout couch as my boy /girl twins were not too keen on sharing a double bed. I am originally from the UK and whenever we travel in Europe, you can usually get a family room with one large bed and two singles or one large bed and bunkbeds, which always works out better.
Definitely wasn’t a big deal for us though.

The resort was amazing. We used our butler the next morning to book all the A La carte restaurants which we got without issue.

The ground are absolutely stunning, animals everywhere which we loved. The pools are very large very spacious. Everything is clean, tidy and the staff and friendly, gracious and helpful.
Restaurants – we did Sumptuori Japanese, Chang Thai, Portofino & El Dorado. I’m not a huge foodie myself, but will say we were more than happy with everything.
Our favourite place for breakfast was the nest and our favourite place for lunch was Hacienda. Both these restaurants are light & bright and very good selection. I found the big buffet by the pool quite dark and busy so we usually skipped it. Es Nui by the family select pool was also very nice and the kids enjoyed swimming while we were waiting for the food.

The service could be a little bit slow when you were ordering from a menu at the nest or es Nui, but again not a big deal for us…. We are on holiday and in no rush.

We did not see any mosquitoes while we were there and we had blue sky & 28° everyday.
I had read some negative comments about different things before going, but didn’t experience anything negative ourselves. Maybe we are just easy-going or maybe we just got lucky but I would 100% recommend this hotel …..if you are going soon just have a wonderful time!!!

I tipped here and there, but never felt like I needed to- there was no pressure to but the staff were so lovely they definitely deserve tipping. 10/10.

Sorry, this is such a long review, but I found this group so helpful when we were planning our visit and wanted to share our experience!
