We enjoyed every minute of our weeklong stay at TRS Yucatan. It was our eleventh vacation in this resort complex and first stay at the new TRS. From the moment we arrived until the time we left we were provided with the friendly, warm, caring service that keeps us returning to Palladium time after time. We were first greeted by Willy in reception at TRS who got us all squared away. Black VIP bracelets were given, which gave us access to everything we wished for. Then we were whisked to our room by the amazing Diego who hauled ALL of our luggage up three flights of stairs at once! Don’t know how he did it! Our room was a beautiful junior suite on the top floor of Villa 67, and our room had a fabulous ocean view which we enjoyed every single day.
Our room was lovely and very modern and had everything we could possibly need. The new design is beautiful! The room had plenty of closet space, a place for shoes, a powerful hairdryer (yay), and a steamer for clothing (which worked well). The separate shower/toilet area was great, and there was always plenty of hot water, nice shampoos, etc. The bedlinens and towels were of very high quality, the mini bar was stocked with drinks and snacks we had previously arranged through the e-butlers (Many thanks go to Cynthia and Martha for all of their efforts to ensure our stay was perfect!) The four bottles of liquor we had preselected were also there for us. Our room offered a fine view of the infinity pool and sea beyond. We enjoyed coffee out on the balcony every morning, would relax out there after a day at the beach/pool, and also in the evening. Our butlers were Mariana, Guillermo, and Jesus, and they were always there ready to make a reservation for us or help in any way possible. The villa was very quiet at night and perfect for sleeping. Our days were spent on either the Kantenah end of the beach under palm trees or palapas or at the infinity pool. The Kantenah end has always been our favorite spot, and we were delighted to see dear Fernanda at La Jarra before she left on maternity leave. The infinity pool is nothing short of amazing. The Palladium design team is to be commended for the vision they had in transforming the former Riviera section into TRS. Everything about it is phenomenal!! We were blown away by its beauty!!
The food at TRS was the best we’ve ever experienced at a Palladium Resort. Breakfasts were typically enjoyed at Helios where Martha and Alain provided exemplary service. Their warm, friendly manner, excellent service, and overall sweetness are what keep bringing us back to Palladium. Martha even taught my husband some Mayan, and they would have fun with their lesson of the day. We tried Capricho once for breakfast, and while it was good, we preferred to eat outdoors at Helios. On our last day we ordered room service since we had to leave quite early. The food arrived on time and was delicious, and included more than we could ever eat. Worked out perfectly for an early departure though. That was the only time we took advantage of the room service offered.
Our favorite TRS restaurant was El Gaucho. The decor and atmosphere in that restaurant is second to none. On our first evening we ate outdoors on the deck, which was quiet and romantic. On our last evening we ate indoors and had fun enoying a cocktail before dinner at the bar while watching the talented bartenders at work. They’re incredible! Franklin was our server that evening, and he is great!! We ordered sooo much food that evening!! Everything was delicious. It was lively and fun and so tasty. The manager, Amando, came over to check on us and we went on and on about what a great meal and evening it was. Can’t wait to return! We also enjoyed La Boheme and had the onion soup that people keep raving about. Now we know why! Tentazione was also wonderful. Everywhere we went we received excellent service and were pleased with the quality of the food. We did not have dinner at Helios, but enjoyed some lunches off the menu there that were all good. Went to the buffet by the Colonial pool one day due to its proximity to the beach, and had a fun lunch with entertainment. Loved all of the entertainment throughout TRS during lunchtime as well. Attended Chic Cabaret and had fun enjoying the talented dancers, singers, and musicians. Fabulous!
We tried to visit the spa on most days to enjoy the lazy river and various pools. Such a peaceful spot at the resort. Don’t miss it! As always, we walked pretty much everywhere. Love all of the pathways through the jungle, and made it a point to enjoy each section of the resort while there. They’re all very beautiful!
During our stay we had the pleasure of meeting Carlos Froilam, assistant manager who was most kind and helpful along with Cynthia Yadira Gonzalez. They work so hard to make TRS the amazing place it has become! Thank you!
We met many travelers from around the world during our stay, which was so fun. It was an extremely relaxing week for us as we celebrated my husband’s retirement, and we look forward to returning next year to our home away from home. Thank you TRS for everything!!
