For those of you who wish to use the very economical colectivo in Riviera Maya please note:
The colectivos are very economical public vans that run up and down the main highway 307 all day. They pick up locals and tourists. Cost is 30 – 40 pesos. You can take it from the Palladium RM to PDC from the same side of the highway. You can take it to Tulum by crossing the highway via the employee tunnel on Colonial.
The colectivo will leave you in PdC about 10 minutes from 5th Ave. Coming back they will be across the parking lot from where they left you off. They will leave you at the employee dorms. Use the employee tunnel to cross under the highway.
To go to Tulum you tell them Tulum archeological site. They will leave you at an intersection which is a 10 minute walk to the trolley that takes you to the ticket booth. Trolley is RT so save your ticket. At the ticket booth you may hire a guide if you wish.
