Fantastic week at Kant. Family Select

Just finished a fantastic week with family at family select. We had stayed at Barcelo the last few years and decided to try something new.

We were in a rooftop pool jr suite. The roof pool was chilly we used it a couple times but the view was absolutely amazing and it was nice to have the extra half bath.

The beach was absolutely beautiful. By far the best part of our stay. We rotated between the beach and the FS pool and Colonial Pool. We preferred the beach and FS pool as colonial was so deep. We did peek at the White Sands pool and it looked like it had a long way to go.

Service: The butlers were absolutely amazing especially Yuri. Anything we needed was taken care of almost instantly. They were so attentive. The service at Colonial buffet was fine. They seemed to hold people in line to seat them with tons of open tables which wasn’t a big deal just seemed inefficient. The Nest service was slow but everyone was great. FS pool the service was great as well. We were really spoiled.

Food:
It took us a few days to figure out what worked best for us. Nest had a buffet and ala carte. First night chicken strips were perfect next night burnt. Hit or miss but better than Colonial buffet. FS pool had made to order and had a nice selection we loved the fajitas. They had a buffet one day that was fantastic. Also they brought around some special treats every couple hours on a few days … corn dogs, ice cream, fruit bowls… super nice touch made you feel pretty special!
We did a few restaurants. I liked the Thai. We did the Italian at adults only. It was decent. Family some
Liked Brazilian some didn’t . At the beach you could walk to the adult only side they had a buffet that had pizza and a grill and some different choices. It was good. Went to the sports bar. It was average.
Overall food was good… not amazing but good. Food is so subjective. I never went hungry!
I did like they had activities every night in the Colonial lobby. The taco night was fun.
Kids did the free paddle boarding which was great. They had other free activities as well. Kids went to the soccer fields and played soccer and basketball. They had rifle shooting and archery that we can try next time. We never did the mini golf or teen club.

I read some reviews on the carts. They had carts for the TRS club that didn’t pick other people up but we has FS carts you could message on the WhatsApp and schedule or message your butler. It’s much smaller than Barcelo so it was pretty easy to walk from one side to the other but if you have difficulty walking the carts were helpful.I can’t think of anything else.

We had an awesome time and plan to go back. Some people say FS is not worth the money but it was worth every penny for us! Met some great people all over the resort.

We have been to many islands and this was some of the prettiest water I have ever seen!
