Family Select at Kantenah & Grand Palladium Riviera Maya. Gracias Jackie Wilson

        FS at Kantenah

Last post, with all the highlights from the little family that stayed in room 4020 before hopping out of this awesome fan’s page. Instead of pics this time, I put this pretty sweet video together! Let me know what you think.
Before I jump into the goods I just want to make sure I’m stating clearing that this piece of information is simply my 2 cents, which is worth approximately that. So, hopefully nobody gets offended.

The absolute best part of the resort, for my family, were the wild animals. They were a constant conversation starter that always ended in my kids laughing. You can respectfully get very close to them. You can’t pet them and you should definitely not try.

Our room, 4020 FS Beachside suite, non-swim up, ranks at the top out of the 10+ all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed out. The apartment-like space made my family of 4 very comfortable. The extra bathroom, jacuzzi hot tub, bathrobes and steamer were heavily utilized, even the hair dryer was the best I’ve ever used.

We ate lunch everyday at either the FS pool snack bar or the sports bar. We only ever ate dinner at the Nest. I know that sounds like a missed opportunity, and you’re probably right. But, because this was our kids first time at an all-inclusive we wanted to prioritize their wants and they wanted to go to the Nest.

The Nest had a small play area that our kids loved and would stay at until their dinner reached the table. They would play little games, get their face painted, make paper boats, toilet paper roll puppies, picture frames and balloon animals.

I wish I had more information on the kids club, but we just didn’t utilize it much on this trip. We checked them in for 3 hours to explore TRS. When we returned they had made, pirate hats, went on a treasure hunt and baked cookies. The kids club closes at 5pm, but the JR’s club is opened later.

The entertainment for kids was top notch. In addition to awesome activities at the Nest, they also had a magic show and a party on the beach with their Palladium kid’s mascot, Rags the dog and his friends. The staff was so dedicated to making this party memorable for both the children and the parents.

The beach was fantastic!! My kids could walk out pretty far and only be at their knees because of the sand bar. There is an area that’s rocky, but it’s mostly stretches of soft sand. It’s not ideal for snorkeling, we only saw a handful of small fish.

The friendliness of the staff ranked very highly on our list. Everyone was so kind to our children, especially Frananda at the Colonial lobby bar and Jose at the Nest.
All in all I wanted to rank this resort a 10, but I simply couldn’t due to our meals at the three restaurants we tried and room service being hit or miss. My kids however, liked just about everything. So it’s a strong 9/10 and I would absolutely recommend this resort, especially for children ages 5-8.

I know an on-going questing on this fan page is whether or not family selection is “that” much better. I hate writing this because it makes me sound pretentious, but the answer is yes.

FS is not just 1 step up, it’s several steps up. The unlimited access to top shelf items like greygoose and Jonnie walker Black, prime area on the beach with cushioned head rests and beachside service every few minutes. We saw long lines to enter the non- FS buffet, we never waited a moment to be seated at the Nest. The drinks, alcohol brand, garnishes and glasses were all a step up at the FS pool versus the colonial, as well.
Lastly a few things I wish I wouldn’t have listened to in this page. I came armed to the teeth with bug spray, and even brought an indoor insect zapper. After 6 days I’m happy to resort my in-room zapper killed 2 flies and one of my children received 1 bug bite.

You don’t “have” to have water shoes for the beach. I bought them for the whole family . We worn them on the first day and never needed them again.

If you are on the fence or you already booked and some of the negative reviews are making you second guess all your hard research, then let this be the last post you read before also hopping out of this fan’s page. Peace, Love and Happy Vacationing.
