Snorkel vest

I highly recommend these vests.  We bought them on line, not expensive.  We’ve had ours for 11 years. We bought our family these vests & all 6 (adults) of us wore them even our daughter who is an extremely good swimmer.  I have a whistle on mine since I am a weak swimmer & would only use it if I was having extreme difficulty.  I would never use it unnecessarily as it would frighten a lot of people, but my husband would not be able to hear me in the water if I needed help.  I was caught in an undercurrent on a very windy day in March & made it to shore safely but I did not use the whistle as the snorkel vest kept me safe & I paddled to shore.  It was not a red flag day but it was too windy for me.
