Thank you April for sharing
We are back from an amazing vacation in Coste Mujeres! We had a great time. Very relaxing trip for us this time around. We arrived November 3, 2024 through November 13, 2024.
We had reservations for the Ambassador suite. There was an issue with the Ambassador Suite so we were upgraded by the Travel club manager, JAlberto Des. We had the opportunity to stay in the Signature Suite in Family Selection. What an amazing room!!! The room was ready and the champagne, fruit, and alcohol were in our room upon arrival. This room is centrally located and it was perfect for my husband post surgery travel.
The weather is amazing at this time of year and we only had one day that it rained lightly for the day. We spent most of our time at the Travel Club pool. What a beautiful pool it is. We really love the food truck there. You can get chicken tenders, hot dogs, mini burgers, french fries, quesadillas, wings etc. Our favorite is the chicken quesadilla. We got to see Carlos, he is such an amazing person always ready to help. Carlos is who you would see to reserve a Bali Bed during your stay. I don’t think we had to even leave our seats, as the pool butlers tended to our every need. My new morning favorite vacation beverage is now a Pineapple Mimosa! Thank you Ricardo (Richie)!
Our mini fridge was stocked daily. If you are lucky enough to be in your room you can let them know what you want everyday. One thing I didn’t like was the bite sized snickers. Used to be a whole snicker! My husband on the other hand loved the bite sized snickers because he has no control lol. So that is a personal preference. Our Butlers left us treats every afternoon, so cute!
If you have kids, you definitely are missing out if you are not staying in Family Selection. They do so many cute things for the kids. The family Selection pool is beautiful too. We had lunch at Es Niu which is next to the Family Selection pool. They have burgers, appetizers, tacos, soup.. We had the watermelon and goat cheese salad that was delish! We had breakfast a couple times. We ate at Cappricho one time for breakfast. They have live music and you can order a la-carte or get something off the buffet. The rest of our trip we had breakfast at the Nest. Mostly because my husband had surgery earlier this year and the Nest was more convenient being right next to our room. They have a breakfast buffet or you can order a la-carte. You do not have to have kids to eat there. They had the most amazing Boston Cream donuts! They put Dunkin Donuts Boston Cream donuts to shame! So much filling……yummy! Very good breakfast there.
We ate at the Tentazione (Italian in TRS) a couple times. First time I think we had a language barrier regarding our salad but everything else was very good. They will even let you pick your own pizza topping if you wish. They were funny when I asked for a Pineapple and Pepperoni pizza lol. That Pizza was delish! We had the Rigatoni a la Bolognese which was very good. We went there a second time and had the most amazing waiter, Naim! It was his first day. I couldn’t believe it because he didn’t miss a thing! Perfection! He said he used to Bartend in Mexico City. Palladium needs to hold onto him because he truly was amazing! We also had a table by the window for the beautiful sunset there if you catch the right time!
Helios – We had lunch and dinner here. Our dinner was good. We had steak and coconut shrimp. Hubby said coconut shrimp was very good and our steaks were cooked to our liking and tasted very good! The only issue was our salad not being what we expected. We always get the Mozzarella and Fig Arugula salad. That is not what came to the table. Pea and Corn salad came. We were not fans of that.
Our lunches here were amazing! Love sitting outside for the views with lunch. We had my favorite Fig, Mozzarella and Arugula salad. That is definitely a salad to try! My husband had the beef burger, and the Philly Cheesesteak. Both were very good. Some days I would just order their fries! So yummy!
El Gaucho in TRS. We had steak both times that we went there. Steaks were cooked to our liking and were HOT. We had Empanada turnovers, ham and cheese, and chicken. These were HUGE and HOT. We were used to them at the other resorts being bite sized. Not here. They were big and something you definitely can share otherwise you would fill up quickly. We had the heart of romaine salad which was so good. They serve your vegetables family style in little crocks, so cute. Both times we had great waiters and service.
Chang Tai (in the Village) we ate here one time. We had chicken and rice soup which was good. We also had the sweet chicken wings and pineapple fried rice. Both were good. I did order ribs, but they came cold which I did not like. The Nest in Family Selection- We had dinner here two nights. Love this place for dinner. If you take an early dinner, not many families are there at that time. They have a great buffet and you can also order a-la-carte. Again we had their steak which was delicious. The Nest salad was amazing!!! Soooo good! We had Pumpkin soup, which is green. Wasn’t so sure at first but it was so good! More please! They have some nights that they grill out. My husband had the lobster and loved it.
Chic- in the Village- Dragged my husband to this. This show I actually loved. They have a menu now so you can look before you go to see what’s on it. We ate before we went, so I just told the waiter to not bring us the food. Not a problem at all. Definitely a must see at this resort.
The Spa- things are a little different now as they have you make appointments to use the hydrotherapy which we did every afternoon. I actually loved them doing this as the place isn’t overcrowded. My favorite was the Salt Room-and the view from the hydrotherapy pool and upstairs pool. You can get a smoothie up there. The ladies there are so welcoming and make great smoothies! Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. We also had a couple massages that were great! If you are Travel Club you can use your Palladium money even with the specials, which we did.Our Butlers in building 11- Our Butlers were amazing! They work so hard to make sure your stay is the best. Our Butlers were Rocio, Alan Lainez, Ulises, and Adrian. We only had Ulises once because a lot of the help takes vacation at this time of year before the busy season starts. We had plenty of alcohol in our room and were even able to trade it out for different ones. When we ran out, our Butler was able to hook us up with another bottle of Grey Goose. Our housekeeper, Leo, was so cute. We left him a treat the first day. He didn’t take it…..had to tell him there was money in there and that everyday we would be leaving treats and money. He really appreciated that and took great care of us. We bring little treat bags and I put money depending on the room category as well. As well as chocolates in them. This time of year I also bring ornaments to them that I have made. It’s a big hit!
Night life- there is but we never made it that late. The resort is modern and beautiful. I walked almost every day.
The beach- it’s a nice beach. While we were there they actually had alligators. Shocked me, but they said that their habitat is overcrowded and they are looking for other nesting places. They had beach staff watching for them and alerted people to get out of the water. The beach is huge as the buildings are all set back.
We had a few issues, but between our Butlers and Travel Club everything was taken care of.
You do need to remember that you are in a tropical environment so you are going to have critters and dampness. I hear people complain about that and it has never been an issue for us at this resort and I have a very good nose smeller! This hotel and its staff are amazing. You won’t regret staying here at all. It’s a beautiful resort. We had the most relaxing and amazing time! We cannot wait to get back there!
