Our trip is now 4 weeks away and we are getting so excited.

We have managed to upgrade to Family Select Swim up room 🙂

We have a couple of questions:

We have a Bali bed included, are they at the room or at the beach?

The WiFi that we will have in the room I assume will be quite good but what will it be like around the resort? Do we get any sort of premium WiFi?

The Bali bed will be at the Family Select beach.

The Wi Fi is very good around the resort, & even at the beach.  I wouldn’t upgrade unless you need something additional for work purposes.

So how does it work with the Bali bed, will we be allocated a specific bed or is it 1st come 1st served so to speak?

They are first come first served. I saw a picture yesterday and it looked like there are plenty available.

So are only so many allocated to certain rooms within Family Select or can anyone in Family select use them?

Also can the Bali beds of TRS be used by Family Select customers?

[Anne]

The FS beach is separate and roped off so that area is delegated to FS guests. Any FS guests can use them. You can also use the TRS area.

I don’t know if this video will open FS beach by Pat. It is on the Unofficial Palladium Facebook page and shows the FS beach.

Also do you know where is the best place to snorkel off the beach?

There is shallow snorkeling off White Sand. You will need water shoes there. There is a deep reef off Kantenah. You should wear an inflatable vest there.  There is some snorkeling off Colonial which is mixed.

Many thanks Anne, do you know how far out the reef is off Kantenah?

Not sure. My friends are big snorkelers and they always go out there. They are decent swimmers but both wear an inflatable vest there.

For good snorkeling with turtles you can take the Dive boat from Colonial beach or take a taxi or colectivo to Akumal beach.

Was hoping to do the snorkeling on site, last time we were there we did it down by White Sands and it was a bit stony didn’t know about the reef off Kentenah.

Do they have inflatable vests on site for us to use?

No they have regular life vests but not inflatables.

Couple more questions Anne:

I drink Vodka and the better half drinks Gin, would we be able to have both of these in the FS room?

What are the opening times of The Nest?

Are there any additional wines included at meal times within family selection ?

House wine is free all over the resort. I assume FS has a better selection than the GP side.  I am a wine drinker and managed to find a decent Chardonnay at TRS. If you find a wine you like better than others ask for it.  There is also a wine list for a charge.

Will there be any sections, bars or restraunts  closed for the renervations when we are there ?

When are you going? They plan to do some work on the lagoon but that is not near the FS. If occupancy is low they may stagger the restaurants.
