We are starting to get very excited!  I really am looking forward to exploring another Palladium resort as well and sending you all lots of pictures, videos ( if possible ) and info.

It should be interesting to see how all our different age groups like the resort and what will stand out as good and what they may suggest could make it even better.  I know the Palladium always is looking for this valuable feedback and this has always impressed us.  They listen to the guests and care about their experience.

My one son loves his flip flops, he does have nice ones but he will have shoes as well so worse comes to worse and they say no he can always wear the shoes just for dinner.

There seems to possible be a nicer standard for dress listed at this resort, we have always been able to wear cover ups and bathing suits ( if they are dry ) into all the buffets and my husband has never had an issue wearing a bathing suit with a no sleeve t shirt either but the dress code for the inside buffets say no to this….thinking if my cover up looks like a dress it will pass and it may mean bringing t shirts with sleeves for the men and an extra pair of shorts to go to lunch in.  Kinda odd though…I  can understand no wet suits but don’t see why the cover up etc is not ok at the inside buffets during the day.

have to read it again, maybe this is only for dinner and that makes sense.

I saw the live facebook show the other night with the demo party at the Riviera Lobby going on and the start of the reno there. Sad in some ways and then in some ways you know a beautiful new section is on the way which is exciting.

The only things we worry about is with the change and development of a much bigger section you loose that lovely small resort feeling the old place had.   We wonder if the prices will go up to the point that many of us who loved to go will not be able to do so.

The other thing that  would concern me is if this is going under another company what happens to those who receive the gold band from the Palladium and have had access to the adults only section, will they still be doing that in the future?

          Thanks Anne,

You have not steered me wrong yet!  With all the great encouragement and info from the wonderful members of this site it has always made our vacations just so much better.  We are so thankful that people always want to share helpful tips  it truly makes a difference. I am always happy to share as well.

Thanks for checking on the gold band status for me….what a treat to finally get to that place, would love the ability to check out the entire resort and all it has to offer, not just for me but of course to share with others and for future planning.  We are booked in the main section as we have all ages.  Of course I would never turn down the adults only area…..love to quiet!

We will definately be interested in trying to do a dinner with the big group, think at this point knowing how the seating can be and also with people wanting different things for dinner we are going to plan to eat lunch as a group, not at one table but we figure the buffet should have space that we can sit close enough, then we can just let groups form for dinner based on what people want to eat and when and this may mean we end up eating with different combos which will be fund.  One special dinner together though would be really nice.

I am starting to look at the web cam now and wow….I think it is going to be really lovely.

thanks for all the info everyone!  I have also sent the link to our family to the information page on this resort ….it is excellent.

I believe that this is going to be our pick for the family vacation and you know that means you will be getting a HUGE and LONG trip report coming your way.  It will be interesting for us to go to another Palladium location and see how we like it.   I will welcome any ideas you have for excursions or what to eat etc, what to do….we will be researching this for our group.

I am thinking because our group is large we may need some help/advise from guest services there as we get closer.  I will be looking for any good contact info as well.  Wondering if this being our 8th trip to a Palladium resort means that we will get the beautiful gold band and all that goes with it or do they have a different policy on this at the PV resort?  Just curious.

As we have kids and adults in our group we are not booking into the adults only section but I would not turn down access to all the services!

Well you know best Anne..the reward is seeing how people just love the place like we do!!

I am hoping they can get a good location in the whites sand section but I also know it is much busier so it is really what is available at the time.  I will be sure they send in a request  and have told them to read the forms and the tips especially.  I still re- read them from time to time as there are always new ideas that I can add to my preparations too.

Can hardly wait til September, I don’t think I every stop day dreaming of being there from the moment I leave til I return.

This is a tough one because there are so many..so I started to think about songs I like hearing often because you do hear many of the same songs at the resort more than once.

Here are some of my favourites….could not keep it to five though

                  Your Song  – Elton John

Make me Feel Your Love ( the Adele version )

A case of You – Joni Mitchell

Always a Woman to me – Billy Joel

Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran

You send me – Sam Cooke

Waiting for a Girl like You – Foreigner

Come Away with me – Norah Jones

You Make Loving Fun – Fleetwood Mac

We are going to fly with AreoMexico for the first time so if anyone has used them let me know. Excited to have it booked… 10 nights again, 7 was too short! Royal suites, wish we could have booked a suite but we enjoy the Jr Suites as well!

Last fall the menu when we were there the promotion poster was in the Royal lobby with the menu and you did have to book it  with I think 24 hours notice.  It was pretty full as well.  They do a great job with this and it is really so nice.

6 visits all to the Riviera Maya resort and we absolutely love it there…planning trip number seven for the fall 2016.  Is it after your eight trip you get a gold band or on the eight trip and this is a standard practice?

I always recall the al la cartes having a standard kids menu so kids can order from either the restaurant menu or the kids menu. There are so many options during the day as well at all the locations and what I truly love about the resort is the water safety for drinking which for me as a parent would be so important when traveling with little ones.

One thing we didn’t know until this past trip was that you can order bottles of house wine to your room. It came through room service but we we unsure about it so we asked in the lobby and they called and had it sent up. This is really nice as often you do enjoy a drink in the room and some of us like wine over mixed drinks. Champagne was also available I believe. This is for the Royal section.

I think it would be a great suggestion to do a limited number of suites with the two double beds in the bedroom. There are couples who prefer it and as you said friends travelling together would also love it plus the more private washroom and living space separate from the bedroom for those with different sleep patterns. They might find that many people would really value this option in the a Royal section.
