Three estranged sisters are summoned home by their also estranged mother
Meg reports,
“We had sangria at the Royal pool.. they have a noon time barbecue of hamburgers hot dogs and shish kabob. Having a wonderful time enjoying the Royal Suites. The View is quite different from the RM. The staff is wonderful. The ocean has been a bit rough but clear and beautiful. If I would have one complaint it would be that the travel Club called yesterday morning at 9 a.m. . And then they came to our door twice and knocked ignoring our do not disturb sign on the door. Hemingway’s chocolate was off the charts. The weather is beautiful not much humidity Blue Skies and a great Breeze. For those who are living vicariously I hope you enjoy.”

Emma reports 1100 nests today. From another source:

Green Turtles will continue to nest until early September
Logger Head turtles have finished laying”

“We’ve been here for a week and had short sharp downpours on a couple of occasions and that was only in the evenings. It’s beautiful here, very humid. And no I’m not complaining re the sun just giving friendly advice. Happy holibobs everyone planning to come here.”

Don’t ever underestimate the strength of the sun! We are currently at GP and having a great time BUT all 4 of us have burned our shoulders or back. Sun block required and aloe Vera is a godsend! It hasn’t spoilt our holiday thankfully but be aware if you are planning a trip here.

01(329)2269910 R A L E N TMy daughter said the same thing. Being a Mom I worried about her not having pre-arranged transportation. She said it would have been easy to get a taxi.
Hi Keri,
Here is the info I got from the hotel when my daughter went:
Aeromovil,
You can contact Rebeca at vip@aeromovilpvr.com.
“To get back to the airport you have to take a cab from the hotel. It is important to mention that cab drivers from the hotel have worked for years with us and we have not had any problems with the services they offer.”
I believe all Palladiums prohibit men wearing sleeveless tank top type shirts in the restaurants.
Also thank to Lulu for arranging these rooms.
Hi Pat,
They have relaxed the men’s dress code and I think nice flip-flops should be OK.
The Palladium PV side needs adapters. Here is the blurb from our FAQs:
“The electricity is 110 volts. The Royal Suite outlets accept the standard three prong plugs used in USA and Canada. An extension cord or small power bar is recommended to make it easier to charge multiple devices. You will need an adapter for the Puerto Vallarta section.”
You must be getting excited!

“The “Kantenah Turtle Camp” protects turtles that lay eggs on the bay. As part of our preservation and protection of natural resources program, we keep a record of the number of the females, nests and young turtles.
From 2012 to 2016, our preservation program counted 4,722 nests and a total of 446,890 released turtles.
In 2017, 632 nests have been registered and 930 turtles have been released so far.”

Pat the gold band question is an on-going conversation as it the question of non royals losing the use of the salt water pool. I did enjoy the intimacy of the old RSY but look forward to visiting the new RSY.
The RSY has been “re-branded. It has a new name to distinguish it from the family resorts but it is till in the Palladium family.
Great. Thanks for adding.

It is a new brand for The Royal Suites
Earlier this year, Palladium Hotels & Resorts announced a plan to invest $21 million in itself to enhance guest experiences at a dozen properties throughout the Caribbean and Mexico.
Now the company is in the throes of executing the plan, and is about to embark on one of the most ambitious parts of its overall strategy.
Palladium Hotels & Resorts is utilizing the industry’s Three R’s as it has begun to renovate, rename and rebrand its adults-only luxury resorts known as The Royal Suites by Palladium and changing to TRS Hotels.
The rebrand includes a fresh and elegant look on the property as well as an updated marketing campaign and logo. TRS Hotels will become independent of Grand Palladium Hotels & Resorts, the company said, while remaining true to the mission of offering the best adults-only luxury experience and personalized service at the current properties in the Dominican Republic and Mexico as well as the new Costa Mujeres property set to open in fall of 2018.
“As the adults-only market in the Caribbean and Mexico continues to grow and expand, Palladium Hotels & Resorts looks to differentiate itself by evolving its adults-only brand, TRS Hotels,” Jacques De Paep, Palladium Hotel Group Commercial Director for North America, said in a statement.
The move is part of the overall mission to enhance Palladium properties. Almost a quarter of the $21 million investments, $5 million, is slated to go to upgrading food and beverage offerings, including a higher quality of steak and liquor offerings as well as a better presentation at buffets.
Palladium will also increase its staff size by 13 percent compared to last year.
“We are dedicated to improving our guests’ experiences in every way possible, so we are investing in upgrades in the areas that matter the most—service, food and beverage and technology,” De Paep said in a statement. “Guest satisfaction at our upgraded properties in Jamaica, Riviera Maya and Punta Cana has soared after the renovations completed, so we are extending this investment in upgrades at all of our properties.”
The TRS Hotels revamp will also include an increase in staff, upscale amenities like guestrooms with swim-up rooms, dinner-and-a-show-themed restaurants, and world-class beach clubs.
The new TRS Hotels brand maintains the original mission, however, as it caters to an adults-only experience with customized service and attention.
In addition to the rebranding, TRS Yucatan in Riviera Maya will be undergoing various upgrades and renovations from July 1 to Nov. 15, including completely renovated guestrooms, swim-up rooms, additional exclusive a la carte restaurants, a new infinity pool, and integration of the entire room stock of the former Grand Palladium Riviera Resort & Spa along with a Signature Beach Club.
TRS Turquesa in Punta Cana will also be undergoing changes thanks to the addition of a signature Beach Club, with scheduled completion set for Dec. 1.

Unfortunately it is our last night at Grand Palladium, Punta Cana.
The staff at the restaurant “The Royal Gourmet” went above and beyond saying “Adios”They had a special arrange table waiting for us. Very unexpected and very touchy!
Thank you for going out of your way to make our last night so special!
PS Bad pictures, wonderful memories!Maya reports,
“Seems that there here is new sheriff in town and the service is waaaay better.
Beach (adults only) is cleaner, the palapas are new, there are a lot of new sun beds and pillows.
They changed the color of the towels- dark brown and the pillows are orange, very neat combination. Looks sophisticated.Food is wonderful, there is even caviar in the “Royal gourmet”
Forgot to mention the security. There are at least two- three security guards roming around all day long. Don’t remember seeing them been so active before.
