My butlers are awesome . Very on top of things. Memo just sent me daily activities, weather and schedule of restaurants. Yesterday I asked Jessica where I could find some paperbacks and she found some & delivered them to me at the pool!
GP Riviera Maya restaurants
On the 24th in GP La Lola, Portofino, El Dorado and La Adelita (for the a la carte only with the menu attach, not regular menu) on the 25th Ribs & More, Bahia e Brasa, Poseidon, El Dorado with regular menu
Note on TRS Gaucho is also open. There will be the traditional Gala dinner on GP for everyone. Christmas Eve sample menu
I have used pesos & US. If you use US use clean bills, no coins, no tears. Staff appreciate any tip.

For the week beginning Monday October 11, the epidemiological risk colour code for the Northern Region changes to GREEN (low risk). The Southern Region remains Yellow (moderate risk).
The Northern Region includes the municipalities of Benito Juarez (Cancun), Isla Mujeres, Puerto Morelos, Solidaridad (Playa del Carmen), Cozumel, Tulum and Lazaro Cardenas.
According to the guidelines, Green means 80% maximum allowed capacity at hotels, restaurants, theme parks, beaches, public parks & cinemas, 50% at bars and nightclubs, and 80% on public transportation. Schools are now classified as essential and can open with normal capacity.
As of 15 December 2020, a decree makes the wearing of masks in all public spaces mandatory in the entire state.
The white parties will be pink parties for the month of October to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness month.
For the week beginning Ocotber 4 the color code will be Yellow. The Feder Color is Green but the
State color takes precedence.

There are some minor damages which affected mostly the gardens and public outdoor areas as expected, but nothing significant to worry about.
In the Riviera Maya area electricity has been on/off during the last 12hrs.
Please know that our amazing Operations Team is cleaning all the areas and getting ready to resume operations, rest assure all our Grand Palladium Hotels & TRS Hotels in Riviera Maya and Costa Mujeres are open and will be operating normally by the end of the day today.
Nevertheless, the Safety and well-being of our Guests and employees is our highest priority. The color codes for Quintana Roo is updated every Thursday. The government is currently reviewing the situation.
The colour represents the level of risk, and therefore what is allowed to be open.
The colour is determined by the examination of several factors such as the level of contagion, number of cases, hospital occupancy, etc.Red (maximum risk) means everything is closed except for essential services/activities, for example supermarkets, pharmacies, medical services, banks, laundries. Tourism is classified as essential, so tourists are welcome to come to Mexico. Hotels/resorts can remain open but with a maximum capacity limit.
Orange (high risk) means restrictions are eased for some services/activities. Restaurants (for dining in), theme parks, cenotes, theatres, cinemas, commercial centres are allowed to open with limits to capacity and health protocols in place.
Yellow (moderate risk) means more services/activities can open, capacities can increase (typically to 60%), and beaches can reopen. Archaeological zones can also open under Yellow.
Green (low risk) means everything can reopen. Bars, nightclubs, gyms, schools and parks remain closed until the colour changes to Green.
The above was based on the original guidelines which have been changing.

Clarification:
If a guest tests positive they are moved to another room for quarantine. They are assigned a number for insurance company purposes. The insurance company will absorb all costs of the positive person’s room, food and PCR test. (no alcohol) It is the guest’s responsibility to pay the hotel at check out and then follow up with the insurance company for reimbursement. If there are people in the party that test negative who want to stay in another room they will be charged the regular room rate.

Just to clarify the suites have 2 rooms and there are 18 of them across 9 buildings. The jr suites consist of one roon. The suites’ pools are a little larger than the jr suites’ pools.
Here is the map. The suites with private pool are in 60-68. SOme are closer to the main pool than others.
Go to the official site and they will send it to you. As you are not going until December it’s too earlyto make requests, but mention it is for it for future use. They are very helpful. (Send it to them 7-10 days prior to arrival)

There are 18 suites with private pools so that would be 2 per building with the suite being on the end of the buiding (corner) so you and you son would likely not be next to each other. If you wanted to be next to or close to each other one couple would have to switch to jr suite. Suite with private pool
Chic Cabaret will be open on Christmas Eve & NY Eve. The cost is $20 reservation fee for TRS guests. Grand Palladium guests may attend for a $20 reservation fee & a $100 attendance fee.
