Of course, there is no telling whether there will be better offers or not.

I posted the following on the Unofficial Palladium Travel Club Members Group:

“I just received a response from the Ecommerce manager for PTC regarding the terms and conditions for reservations:

      “Terms and Conditions:

      Valid only for new bookings
      Modifications can’t combine original promo
Cancelations are subject to availability and rooms are not guarantee with the same offer
Travel dates and booking Windows are mandatory”

What does all this mean? Most importantly, cancelations being subject to availability and s talking about canceling and rebooking. Under this situation, PTC will not guarantee that upon canceling in order to get the new promotion that the same room category will be available for rebook because a different sales entity could sell take that room upon cancellation. Also, you can’t combine the original promo with the new promotion.

All reservations under the promotion must comply with the booking dates contained in the promotion and be made during the booking window.”

There are three basic levels with a few variations. There are junior level memberships which give members access to travel club rates on standard rooms and junior suites. A variation of this level offers access to Royal suites junior suites as well. The second basic level is governor level, which give access to additional room types such as one bedroom suites. There is a variation of governor plus as well, which gives additional room types. The highest basic level is presidential. This level gives access to all room types as well as the ability to combine two adjoining rooms as one reservation while only needing three adults. The final variations are Ambassador and Signature. These are for access to these specific room types which are exclusive to the Travel Club. Ambassador memberships must be at least governor level while I believe that Signature memberships are presidential level. Depending on the level and membership purchased, the term of membership can vary from 5-50 years.

I will be arriving in Punta Cana tomorrow. I am hoping to see every room type in the complex, and hopefully have a video walk-throughs of them all.  I will certainly try and get as much information as I can, which I hope will be helpful.  I will be sharing the videos to the Facebook page, so if you haven’t joined the Facebook group make sure you do.

We have stayed in Royal Suites Yucatan once and Royal Suites Turquesa three times. Personally, I far prefer Royal Suites Turquesa. Firstly, yes it is as beautiful as the photos depict it. RST truly has the feel of a separate adult only hotel being separate from the rest of the resort while RSY is placed in the middle of other parts of the complex and having a beach area some distance away. The dining opportunities in RST are also different than in RSY. El Jardin is open for breakfast and dinner, while the Royal Gourmet is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Add to that Le Chanterele, the French restaurant.

Both resorts offer similar quality and service. However, the physical differences between the two hotels is great.

Well, the One Love 2nd Annual Members Party by Palladium Travel Club is 97 days away. It promises to be the biggest event hosted at a Palladium for the year. Last year, 400 people attended the inaugural annual event and as of May 27, the reservations made for this year’s event were already roughly 2/3 of last year’s reservations.

So far, two events are set. The actually party on September 16, 2016 and a bonfire including a fire show exclusively for Travel Club guests on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 9:00. Of course, other things are being planned, but have not yet been finalized. Without a doubt, it promises to be the event of the year. As more details become available, I will keep everyone updated.

14 trips to Palladium properties: once to Jamaica, twice to Vallarta, 5 times to Riviera Maya, and 6 times to Punta Cana. All the resorts are great…and for us variety is the spice of life. We already have planned trips 15&16 for later this year. BY the end of September we will have spent 22 weeks and are closing in on half a year spent at Palladium.

That’s a good idea, Blueskies. We go Dominican pesos a few months ago from AAA. I don’t think there was a charge…it just took a while to come in.

Bill, is it a conversion fee…or is it a foreign transaction fee? I know after our first trip to Mexico, we were charged a 3% foreign transaction fee on our Visa card. We got a card without the foreign transaction fee and never had the issue again.

Bill, firstly I hope that the financial state in Canada improves soon. Unfortunately, I really don’t understand the entire conversion process as I have never tKen the time to learn it. Being from the U.S., the charges are always in USD…which is the Travel Club’s practice in pricing. I believe the hotel converts the price from USD to pesos and then your bank would convert the pesos into Canadian dollars. I don’t know if there is a benefit in paying in pesos as the base price is USD. Therefore there is a higher price in pesos than in the past.

First of all, I am glad you are enjoying your membership. In addition to trial memberships, there are three basic levels of me,bership: Junior, Governor, amd Presidential. These levels determine what room types you can book theough the Travel Club. At the junior and governor level, there are also plus levels, which entitle you to some additional options…swim up suites for example. Also, there are Ambassador and Signature memberships, which add these room types to your Governor or Presidential membership. Our Membership and Information sheet should contain all of the room types you can book under the Membership Charactersitics portion. This information is repeated inder Clause 1 of your contract.

Mayan Suites are Governor level rooms, so I would think that you would have access to Governor Suites (one bedroom suites woth separate living room) in Riviera Maya and Jamaica, Romance Suites and Honeymoon Suites in Jamaica and Punta Cana, Grandmaster Oceanview suites in Vallarta, as well as a few other room types in Royal Suites Turquesa. Check to see if your membership includes swim up suites or not.

Regarding room assignation, room assignments are made very shortly before arrival, they are not reserved months in advance. What happens os the hotel assigns Travel Club rooms and then assigns non Travel Club rooms. So theoretically, Travel Club members have the best chance of getting their room requests met. They are not guaranteed, however. When making requests, the more specific the request, the less likely to have it fulfilled…and therefore the more likely you would be to be disappointed. Therefore, I would advise you pick what is most important first. Floor level and general location. Third floor, close to pool. Also, request closed concept bathrom if that is important. If you aske for one specific room, you will likely be disappointed…trust me…I know.

                            Hopefully this helps.

Welcome to the Travle Club…we have enjoyed our membership since joining in Punta Cana in 2011. We have visited Punta Cana 6 times, amd absolutely love the resort.

The members’ lounge is located on the beach next to Arricife beach buffet. See the map at this link:

                              https://unofficialpalladium.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/GP-Dominican-Rebublic.jpg

If you have a junior level membership, I would suggest the junior deluxe in Bavaro. They are located in the new buildings…17, 18, and 19. There are two buildings labeled 19…the one closest to the sea has only Ambassador Suites and swim up junior suites, which you may not have access to. While we have never stayed in the deluxe junior suites, the TC manager told me that they are an excellent option. There are also junior suites and master junior suites which are also very nice…my son stayed in a master junior suite last year and was quite comfortable.

When making your reservation, request a room closest to the members lounge. While not guaranteed, TC members get priority room assignation. If you have other questions, please feel free to ask.

Firstly, Juan, I am glad to hear that you are using your membership…and obviously enjoying it. The best way to get the most of your membership is to use it. Your specific question is addressed in Annex 5 of the contract. Item #12 on my copy, is a “Home Tour”. This is an excursion from a group of offerings which vary based on the resort you are visiting. One option for the home tour is a combination exfoliation/massage ritual. The home tour is one of the valuable benefits of your membership. When Zentropia took over the spas in the various Grand Palladium resorts, this became an option. This was not an option when Renova had the contract to operate the spas. Sergio Zertuche worked hard to get this option because when members have visited the same resort multiple times, the were looking for another option to the tour. It was during this same negotiation that it became available to use Palladium Money at the spa (but without the 20% discount) as a way to further enhance the value of that benefit. Sometimes, the sales office or marjeting concierge give members (and nonmembers) coupons for a 30 minute massage as a thank you/incentive for attending a sales/upgrade presentation. And sometimes, members…as well as other guests…receive something complimentary as a thank you for being a loyal guest. In the end, however, what members are entitled to according to their contract is one home tour per guest for every 7 night reservation.

Yes…it is an awesome resort…it has a different character than Riviera Maya, but it has the same great quality if service.
