Hi,
Kantenah Bay is considered one of the most important beaches for turtle nesting in Playa del Carmen; In the 2018 season it was the third beach with the highest nesting record in Playa del Carmen.
For this reason, in each nesting season since 2012, we manage the permissions for the operation and assembly of a turtle camp.
The main activity is during the night, when the turtles arrive at the beach to nest.
The work of the technicians is to check the physical condition of the turtles and monitor the spawning, then the eggs are relocated in the turtle camp where they keep them out of reach of predators.
From 2012 to the end of the 2018 season, 6,549 nests had been registered and 613,987 baby turtles had been released.

This is an amazing story of a woman who risked everything in time of war to help the cause.

Just in case this is of use to anyone, especially if you have children – if you press the audio button twice on the remote control, you can change the language from Spanish to English, providing the programme is multilingual. We have two children and watched Descendants 3 on the Disney Channel yesterday with room service!

I don’t think there is good snorkeling off the resort. It is more conducive to surfing / windsurfing.
You can talk to the staff at the Dive Center. They advertise snorkeling so they probably offer a trip. You can also see some other suggestions here: snorkeling excursions

“Harriet Marels Ryan Coxe when we first used the club my oldest was 4 and youngest 1…. we didn’t leave our 1 year old but did go there with her for some air con and soft play! It has really moved on over the years though and I would suggest taking a look. Every child is different etc! Both of mine absolutely LOVE it there! Tell me to go away and come back later when I go to pick them up! It’s safe and has a great system in place for security etc. I sat and watched from a distance the first time
I left my eldest – at the time 4 – to make sure it was safe etc! I’m perfectly happy with it 😊Kids on stage
I was there a couple of months ago. They are very careful about whom has entrance so there is a sign in/out area. There is an ice cream man. Very popular. Kids do crafts, eco-tours, movie nights, partake in the evening show if they wish. You might want to download the App for activities.
