Anne I have been dormant here for a long time. Would be lovely to travel to one of these new hotels or even go back to the GPRM, 🤞.
This was only the second time we encountered such a long que at terminal 3 but only a few stations open. (8:00 pm ). Then after we located our bags there were long lines at the red/green lights. We were next in line to hit the button & a family came from the side with a stroller etc & she tried to butt in front of us. The attendant held up his hand for her to wait but she insisted & pushed her way in front of us. She got the red light, we got green! They had a lot of bags/stuff to search too!
I should add that AGI gave us a 10% discount since we are UP members. Our kids also booked AGI & were very pleased with their transfers & discounts. 👌 Thanks Anne .
Check the seal on your old snorkel masks. Our equipment is 12 yrs old so just purchased new snorkels. Now let the countdown begin. See you soon Anne!
Just booked AGI for our transfer to & from airport. Prompt reply & confirmation . We have used AGI many times & very happy with their service. I mentioned we are UP members & got a 10% discount. Gracias UP & gracias AGI.
We booked with a TA in Canada so i will assume the transfer email I received does not apply to us. I think Air Transat used to have an included transfer by bus so i will check on that for our daughter. I believe West Jet does not include transfers. Just need to start finalizing things.
Also happy to say Anne is joining us for a few days as she usually does & was also a guest at our son’s wedding. We are not fond of a lot of attention so the 7 of us will keep the celebration on the down low!
Good news Anne. Yes we have booked one way flights in the past & it did not affect the price. Good luck with your search.
Watching the video, is Maritne still at TRS Yucatan or has he moved to CM? Maybe Doglovers has the answer. He said he may be moved to CM as it is close right to his home.
Thanks Anne. We have friends who will be there with their family ( group of 11 ) so they will love this preview.
Seems a bit unfair to men but one has to do what is required. He just bought a pair of Birkenstocks 😨 Maybe I’ll tell him later, 🤭 I’m sure glad women can wear sandals, I don’t like shoes in the heat let alone socks!
Thanks Anne for that info. When I saw the reply should be sent to TRS transfers it caught my attention. We arrive about 6 pm so at that hour we would not want any complications. We should likely stick with what works, AGI. We always alert the transfer bus that we are taking a private transfer but this appeared to be a different arrangement. Our kids will get the same notification so doing homework for them too. They arrive 2 days after us on different flights so all 3 couples need separate transfers. Smooth sailing would be best.
I remember this picture so well. Thank S Anne for posting. Salute! Can’t wait to return with our kids in February. They are going to love TRS! 9 years since they stayed at WS for the wedding so this will be a huge upgrade 🤗. A big surprise for them will be if Anne joins us . We had so little time to be together with a guest list of 40 & so few days. I hope there will be more shade options at the infinity pool by then.
Thanks for the great trip report. I have to say the AC would be an issue for us, we have our AC set at 17 C at home!! with a fan running as well.
Javier will get 3 round trip transfers. We all land at different times! I’m not sure either. Lots of time to think. Are both the old Riviera & old Royal in the same decor more or less. Should have looked at your room after all, but never thought we’d stay there. Ha ha !
Yes mark your calendar. We tossed the idea around a lot re Kantenah vs. TRS. A new adventure! You know we like to walk so it will be the reverse route this time. We are not fussy about jacuzzis & our room in WS had a tub in the middle of the room which was a good place to store snorkel equipment etc!! Just thought we’d think about which set up would suit us not that it is a serious issue either way. I’m assuming TRS will be much busier next year.
Yes for sure. My FB page has not been working, it only lets me scroll down for 4 or 5 posts, then it freezes.
Just doing research but hope to go in February again. Prices are up but we will go for less days 😒😱 I will let you know when we are booked.
Thanks Brenda, great report. Sorry you had a stomach issue. Jacinto’s medicine is Fernet with lime in case you ever need a second option. At home hubby uses Jagermeister, an American version of Fernet. TRS vs KMS has also been under discussion here, pros & cons??
Excellent trip report Anne. Even though we did not stay at TRS I can attest that all your kudos are very true. Love TRS services, if you have no children traveling with you, this would be an excellent choice for your stay.
They did explain it was a government regulation. Ah a vino in TRS lobby would be lovely right now. Tackled some laundry. We got groceries, faced with real life!
I have been quite comfy in a sleeveless dress in evenings. It is not as warm in the evenings as some other years but not cool either. I do have a big scarf/shawl which I would be more than happy to lend you if you were cool. It is black & white. Maybe somebody else could answer as you know I am seldom cold. I also have a black sweater so don’t worry, don’t over pack. On our way to El Gaucho soon.
12 nights Brenda. Leave Vancouver tomorrow & land at 7:30 pm now. When we booked we were supposed to land at 3:30 pm which would have been great. Better late than never. Vancouver had a huge snowfall a couple of days ago & flights were cancelled so airlines are still catching up with many delays. YVR has been chaos. AGI is booked so that will help with our late arrival. I’m sure we’ll enjoy the changes & I will post our opinion.
First met Jacinto in the Kantenah lobby bar 11 years ago. Also met Anne, Jim & Abby the same time. Memories, 💐
We are excited to see Mayra. She served the champagne at our son’s wedding! & served us many times since.
Great report Marilyn? Did you fly Air Transat from YVR? We are not impressed with the change in flights times on a Tuesday departure. Is Caprichio the other side of the old White Sands buffet? Can folks still walk from the WS lobby to the TRS lobby? How do they monitor TRS vs non TRS guests from wondering over to the Royal side?

Yes 11 years, where does time go? We met you, Jim & Allison. Keith & Jim had some great chats. Allison was a young teenager & checked in with her folks before heading off with her girlfriend. We met in the evenings in the Kantenah lobby . Your last night before departure you gave your shoes to one of the serving girls, she was elated! Awe memories. We so look forward to seeing you & several staff.
Javier contacted us promptly even though his web site is still down. Our round trip transfer is booked & UP members do get a discount. Thank you AGI & UP! AGI will be a welcome sight once again especially since we arrive in Cancun after dark.

Very odd, AGI web site is still down. Since Tuesday or Wednesday? I don’t think they are receiving my emails either. Will try again next week.
It appears the AGI web site is down so I sent an email. There is no rush so will await a reply in the next day or 2.
I agree when folks don’t go to their transfer bus pdq, we sat once waiting for over an hour & the driver finally said he had to leave as he had another route to do next. Since then we have booked AGI. My husband always takes a note to the transfer bus, it only takes a minute or 2.
We will book AGI this week. We arrive so late with the flight time changed to 4 hours later we lose the whole first day so AGI will be a welcome sight. Very annoying when flights are changed, oh well, 🤔
Great trip report Anne, as usual! I can’t wait to try all the new a la Cartes. Are the new bracelets used for the whole resort or just TRS?

I was able to print the form, thanks Anne. We just got an email from Transat, our flight departs 4 hours later now so we don’t arrive in Cancun until 7:30 pm! Disappointing but better late than never!

Thanks Brenda & Anne. The worst part about the red light was the fact they went through our luggage with gloves that had searched other bags. Freaked me out as I couldn’t do laundry on arrival! Gloves should be changed before each search.
I’m surprised that the GP in Puerto Vallarta will no longer have an adults only section. My daughter & I loved this quiet area of the resort. Can’t wait to see all the changes to the resort on the Mayan side in February.
I can’t wait either. We have not been to the GP since 2014 & anxiously awaiting our 10th visit in 2017. We will miss El Jardin too but looking forward to new adventures. With all the changes we will feel like newbies! Also anxious to see many of the staff who we have got to know so well.

Sounds great Pat. I’ll be anxious to read your trip report. I was wondering if they had moved the Royal Suites yet. I sure liked the location when we were there in 2014. I don’t recognize the location of the pool in your picture. Have a super time.
I just noticed Pat that you are booked. How exciting for such a special occasion. My daughter & I loved PV. Everything was so handy. We always found the buffet had lots of empty tables so your group should be able to sit near each other even if it is not all at one table. We had a group of 40 at our son’s wedding & rather than trying to get everyone to agree where to dine or a set time as some did day trips, we just met at one of the lobbies later. We never had a bad meal, we found the staff eager to please. We hired a taxi at the airport, you pay & are given a receipt which you hand to the driver so only tip money on arrival. Front desk called a taxi for our departure. There is a small sea water pool that would be really nice for anyone but especially kids who are snorkelling for the first time. We enjoyed the kayaks & my daughter used the paddleboards. I can’t think of any tips right now but if you have a specific question I’ll keep checking. Enjoy the countdown.
I remember the difficult journey she had & the tough day you had. We like our kids to have adventures but always a relief when they arrive safely.
We booked early to make sure we got the type of room we wanted. Not sure if there will be some sales later but hate to take a chance.
