They think maybe it’s a server problem and they will communicate through FB PM.
Welcome Supersongirrl. Are you a Travel Club member?
Something is obviously not working (maybe the Segway email?) I’ll email them again.
Summerlove,
I am sorry to hear of your husband’s health issues. This truly is a gift that the company is giving you both! How wonderful that your hsband has chosen the Royal Suites as his first choice.
Did you check more than one site for availability in the Royal? If it turns out you want to go at a time that there is no availability let me know and l’ll see if I can help. Management has great discretion and as Brenda said they often go beyond the call of duty to assist their Palladium guests. BTW there is a private message option on here or you can emal me if you need help.
If you have tried the info@segway address then now try the felipe address
Please tell them to write to info@segway-funtours.com
If they have please ask them to write to felipe@segway-funtours.com
Thanks!
Let me se if I can get any help.. Some of my contacts are traveling but I’ll try someone else.
Great article.
I wanted to elaborate. The collectivos are now newer vehicles with AC. From P to PDC or Tulum it’s aout 35 pesos.
When we walked out of the resort from Colonial lobby there was a colectivo waiting out front. It sat and waited to fill up. All the passengers were hotel guests going to PDC so we had no stops. If you go out and there is not one waiting walk to the right where the palapa bus stop is. (This goes to PDC) The next collectivo that has room will stop there. If you are going south then cross the highway via the tunnel and walk to the left where the bus stop is.
Taxi rates have changed and are now kept “behind the counter” on a sheet. If you want to save a few dollars cross the highway nd negotiate but not sure if it’s worth it as PA is close. It’s just not on the highway so a taxi is best.
Sounds yummy.
Geoff poste, “was there from feb16th to Mar 1st, this year, we stayed at Palace, room/block 9712 friends in 9708, can recommend PC. 97 is very handy for Buffet, Quiet pool, Reception & reception bar. staff very helpful, however, Those wanting the “Sports Bar” this is a train ride away! and NO toilet, toilet is in the next building 50 yds away. A-La-Cartes we went to and enjoyed very much Asian & Sentori, especially show table in sentori. well worth booking ( book from 5-30pm day before ) Beach is white sand and gets quite crowded, and shelves quite quickly to deepish water ( 3 feet ) to the right you come to the local village, made up of shops and trading stores, so, if you go out of the complex turn left and walk to the village, its quicker to go from the beach, as you end up there anyway. Would i go back, try keeping me away!”
I hope it works out for you Bill.
Hi Marianne,
I emaled them twice in the past and never heard back. I would just go to their table when you get there to confirm your reservation or PM them on FB as Brenda suggested

We are fortunate to have the huge technical assistance from Blueskies Brenda and continued support from “old timers” as well as newbies.
I’ll email the resort and ask.
Looking forward to hearing about your next trip.

Have you signed up for the party?

April 3, 2016 at 6:41 pm in reply to: Trip Report, Easter Week – great weather & great staff make for a great vacation #4687Thanks Jason Great balanced report. How did your daughtr enjoy herself?
Note to others on gluten free beer: I have personally worked with the resort to facilitate the availability of gluten free beer. It is not easy to find in Mexico but they found it! If you need it in your room fridge they will provide it. Best to get a manager’s email address from me and email them ahead.
On other fridge items best to leave a note (in Spanish if possible) requesting other items in the fridge. Sounds like maybe you had a “new” fridge Jason.
Agree. as a wine person (and though the wine is acceptable for an AI (I have had some undrinkables at AI) would ike to see it improved, even if it’s at Hemingways and Royal.
Funny Jason there was a time when the portions were so large that many of us requested smaller portions to avoid waste!
Thanks again. Great review.
If anyone is there or going soon please post a pic. Gracias.

Awesome news! Always improving.
We always enjoy La Adelita. I was disappointed with the beef broth soup but otherwise very good.

Welcome back! I believe there are some in the gift shops for purchase.
Have a safe & blessed Easter everyone.
Susan,
Looking forward to your report of “what’s new” since you were last there.

Jason, Have a wonderful trip.I know you’ll be there over Easter so would love to hear about it when you get back.
If you get a chance pick up some small chocolate Easter eggs before you leave. Staff love them as they can’t get them in MX
I’m sure you’ll have a great time.
No I don’t see this as feasible. Some of the paths are smooth but they are narrow and often have guests on them. The path around the perimeter of the resort is wider but not smooth; sort of like cobblestones and those are traversed by trucks, trains and other vehicles. Sorry to tell your 12 yr old. Best way to get from Colonial to Riviera is to take a train from lobby to lobby or walk down the beach and meet at the White Sand beach bar (not far for either along the beach) or salt water pool. I feel comfortable letting my daughter wander around, especially in daylight. When she was younger we brought a friend and had them use the “buddy” system at night.
Hi Susan,
I just read a TR from someone back yesterday. She wrote: “Our favorite restaurant by far was the Spanish Tapas restaurant. It’s great when you’ve been snacking and drinking all day and do not want a huge meal late in the day. It was also the most delicious. “
I think the resort was giving 15 to 1 dollar in December.
Here is the previous list
We always enjoy La Adelita, Punta Emilia (my daughter had a great steak here at dinner) and of course El Jardin which you should have access to. Last year we enjoyed the Japanese but once every other year is good for that. My daughter really enjoys the updated food at Punta Emilia for lunch and we also enjoyed Kabah for lunch.
When we were there in Dec,it was still fairly new and reviews were mixed. We looked at the menu and decided that there were too many other good choces so we didn’t try it. Reviews remain mixed.
If you are going over Easter bring some chocolate Easter eggs. They can’t get them there.
Ha The people either love the buffets or hate the buffets I think they upgraded the food but don’t have the”themes” They still have the grilling stations so not sure that the complaints are valid
Welcome back from Paradise!
Just read that they now place small coffee pots on the breakfast tables in RM..Nice touch. Another “wish” off our list.
Some rooms on Colonial have been handicapped equipped. Also: new beach amphibious chairs. This one is in PC
Ditto!
Have a wonderful last 2 days.Wow that went fast.
Actually there was some discussion on Facebook about how there are fewer whaes seen in PV now.Too bad.
Missing you guys. Hugs.
Tonight
AbBy loves the freshly made Mexican food at PE at lunch.
In Kabah & Hacienda the chef prepares fresh tacos and other things near the grill at lunchtime.
Live from Maui: “We are enjoying our suite & its amenities but have not cooked. There are lots of great restaurants so we are enjoying our meals out. We had extreme winds for 2 days but lovely today even though the locals still feel it is too cold. We went to the Maui Ocean Centre yesterday, it was excellent. We snorkelled today, saw several kinds of fish. “
Beautiful day (Akumal webcam)
March 11, 2016 at 6:32 am in reply to: TBT – Unofficial Palladium & Many UP Friends in Palladium Magazine #4244Thanks for sharing. Brings back fond memories.
I saw them making them at the buffet (Hacienda or Kabah). Has Ken tried the fried fish (filet or whole fish) at Punta Emilia at lunch? If you go into Akumal we had good fish tacos at la Cueva del Pescador.
The Colonial pool is much more active than the WS pool I believe.

When are you going? Yo can send a building/floor request a week or less before arrival. Let us know if you need additinal help.
They took the sign down, raised the prices and now have a “sheet” they keep at the desk. If you want to use taxis suggest you walk across the highway (via tunnel) and negotiate.
PS No apologies necessary! We are happy to answer questions
Live from Maui:Another beautiful day here in the South Pacific. The VOG seems to have blown away and we can see the island. Of Lanai clearly.
Biked again to get bkfast and spent a great day at the hotel beach. There is a lot of coral so water shoes are a must. Tomorrow we will swim out to the reef and snorkel. It is shallow so no worries about LJC and the water.Lots of kayaking and water boarding right in front with rentals next door. We will go kayaking this week sometime.Had a wonderful dinner of Ono ( local white fish) with excellent sides at Captain Jack’s near Cool Cats. Maybe the best fish ever! Picked up some groceries at Foodland and walked the 25 minutes to the hotel. We’re not cooking, just snacks & wine etc. Easy lunches otherwise dine out.…We really like this hotel even though it is pretty basic….it has all that we want. The clientele. Is generally older so not much noise other than the occasional creaking joint (not the smoking kind). The setup reminds us of our old strata lot days at FAR………good memories..Our room has free WiFi and the kitchen is uber well equipped. Thank heavens we have air conditioning as it is hot and humid even at night.Hello Vacation time and welome. We have tried to publicize everything that is “official” Repeat guest benefits are not”official”although there are some rough guidelines. Is this your 2nd trip or more?
A guest who has been there 2-3 times may get an upgrade if available, may get a fruit basket. There are no guarantees on an upgrade.
A guest who has been there 4+ times may get the above in addition to 3 a la carte reservations if they choose.
Guests who have been 8 or more times (RM), 10 or more times (PC) may get a gold bracelet which entitles them to unlimited a la carte reservations and access to El Jardin. They also have the spa fee waived. Gold bracelets are at managment’s discretion.
None of these are cast in stone and there may be additional amenities such as flowers, champagne, etc for an anniversary or other special occasion. Guests may also order special amenities for a cost
I have great respect for the Palladium staff. Ricardo must have an extremely hard job keeping us all “entertained”.
My daughter worked for Palladium in Ibiza for 2 Summers. She worked the front desk at both Palladium Palace and Ushuai and worked in the Fiesta wedding maketing dept. She did not do this for the money as it cost (me) money for her to work there based on flights, etc. She did it for the experience. She made some life long friends. She had experiences with clients that sometimes made her cry (and call her mother). She had other experiences that she will never forget (like when Spain won the world cup). She had to work til midnight and then go back at 8am. She said, “Mom working here is not the same as vacationing here. I did not sleep all night with all the people partying.”
I think being a “POP” person must be hard; “playing’ all day, smiling all day and barely stopping.
Very good sample for those gong soon
Doglover posed, “Sorry this is all that I have. We got so excited about the set up that we forgot to take pics when it was up and running. They had chicken skewers, beef skewers, hot dogs, hamburgers and grilled veggies. I understand they plan on changing up the menu as well.
When we go back next month, I promise to take pics. Unless someone else posts them before we go.Keep the pics coming. We’ll need a new one for April.
Thanks to Paula for the schedule & thanks to Pat & Wes for the great pic.
Live from Maui: We are in Lahaina on the south side of Maui. It is about 20 miles from the airport in Kahului. The beach is shallow in front of our hotel with a reef not too far out so we can snorkel here. We have a 5 minute walk to the centre of town, the shops on one side are waterfront. At Bubba Gump’s last night, our table was by an open window with the water right below us & we could see & hear the waves. My shrimp was delicious, Ks seafood tacos also very good. Our studio suite has 2 cruiser bikes, nothing mechanical about them so will need to adjust since our mt bikes have gears & brakes. Ha! Our suite has everything we need but we do not plan on cooking except maybe lunches.
March 5, 2016 at 11:31 am in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4075The evening show schedules and special daily activites are posted in the 2 theaters and posted daily on the bulletin boards outside of the main buffets
March 5, 2016 at 11:23 am in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4074Jason, Have your daughter get involved with the kids club when they do eco tours, get the kids involved in the evening entertainment There are some shows in the Colonial theater that actually include the kids and therefore very kid friendly.I would talk to the kids club staff and get their direction.
The shows in the Riviera theater are later and probably more PG rated. There are 2 Pirate shows. They both get very good reviews.Regarding meals, your daughter would probably enjoy the Japanese show table (requires reservation), the beach BBQ (requires reservation), the Brazilian. All ages enjoy the foam party. There are also some pool games at the Colonial pool that would be appropriate for an 11 yr old.
Aw…missing you guys. Have a wonderful time.
March 5, 2016 at 7:57 am in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4071Susan, All I remember is that every Saturday night I have been there I wander over to the Riviera terrace (outside) and they have a mariachi band and some other Fiesta themed things going on. Not sure of the time.Probably 9-ish (before the show) I’ll see if I can find some pics.
March 4, 2016 at 6:19 pm in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4067Saturday night Fiesta behind the Royal theater. Mariachi music.
March 4, 2016 at 1:09 pm in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4066I always wanted to do the kitchen tour. I think it’s at 11:30 on Weds. Closed toe shoes and long pants required. When I tried to go there was a 5 person minimum and it was cancelled as 5 people didn’t show. Not sure if that’s still the case.

March 4, 2016 at 7:35 am in reply to: Riviera Maya – what day do the following events usually occur? #4058People were having a great time at the foam party. They had live music on the beach and give out drinks in coconuts. Had to wait in line for those but great for photo ops
Geoffrey posted:Back to a cold UK, from 28c. Punta Cana is more spread out than RM or Jamaica. We were located in block 97 rooms 08 & 12. Room 12 had an upstairs /mezzanine floor which was the bedroom, so you have to come down to go to loo. pain in the night! Block 97 is close to reception, relax pool and buffet. Very handy for the older person. (for 97 see site map ) Yes we had rain, mostly at night, The food in the buffet had enough variety to satisfy everyone, A la Carte’s you can book from 5.30pm at them. Sports bar is at the far end of resort, resulting in a “train” trip, beware! It has NO toilet facilities! ! Nearest 2 buildings away. All in all, we enjoyed our stay, one or two niggles that could be addressed by the management would certainly make it a more pleasant experience, namely, less noise at relax pool (loud mouthed Canadians drunk? at pool bar ) Would I go back? Maybe!”

Love this pic!
Missing everyone
My dear friends from the Palladium. We met in 2007 and have met there many times.
What? You are leaving again without me???? Wahhh. We need to plan a reunion.
Lisa said, “It is so beautiful here. We love the PV and the area around it – where the Palladium sits. Sayulita, Bucerias are all must visits. The culture, the sunsets, the atmosphere makes me always feel happy. Enjoy – I can’t wait to get back.”
Gracias Darlene for the March profile pic!

How did you get to Coba?
I heard from Segway Tours today that yes they do have tours on Easter and you can book on line if you wish. I’ll check with the resort to see if they have an Easter Mass schedule yet.
Great work. Thank you to everyone.
As they will have thousands of guests that week(though never feels crowded) I would assume they will have the tours that day.Not everyone celebrates Easter. Once I have the Mass schedule I’ll post.
Thanks Peter. Makes a lot of sense.
Thanks B. That worked.
